1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

The Monte Carlo was Chevy's personal luxury coupe, and was introduced in 1970. Although the image was supposedly that of an elegant, luxurious car, the Monte Carlo was available as a SS, with a huge 454 CI engine. The single headlights, blocky rear fenders, and sweeping roof line made for a recognizable, and good-looking car. This one is lowered slightly, and the beige-on-beige color suits it well.

 

 

1950 Studebaker Champion

The new 3rd generation Champions were introduced in 1947, and were the first new postwar cars. The distinctive curved rear window (which way is it going?) was introduced at this time, and, on coupes, the rear window wrapped around all the way to the side windows. In 1950, the pointed, bullet nose front end was added, giving both the front and the rear distinctive design elements. All in all, an extremely interesting piece of 50s design, and it's rarer and rarer to see a unrestored driver like this one.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1967 Lincoln Continental

Showing how modern a design it was when introduced, the 4th gen Continental was still going strong in 1967, 6 years after its introduction. Even today, this generation looks fresh and modern, and is recognized as a design classic. 1967 was not much different from 1966, though it was the last year for the convertible, and the last four door convertible ever made. This one looks very menacing in black, which fits the overall "mobster" nature of the car perfectly.

 

 

 

 

1981 Toyota Tercel

The Tercel came to the U.S. in 1980, available in coupe, sedan, and hatchback body styles, and meant to bridge the gap between the Starlet and the Corolla. The front end was originally similar to the Starlet, but was redesigned in 1981 to the style shown here. First generation cars were badged as Corolla Tercels, with hopes that the familiar name and popularity of the Corolla would rub off on the smaller sibling. This Tercel's white stripe tires give it a unique, and cool look.
