1958 Edsel Ranger Sedan

The Edsel was a brand of cars (technically separate from Ford) introduced in 1958. Ford worked hard on this new Edsel and claimed it was both revolutionary and modern. However, someone forgot to tell the developers, who made a large, chrome-slathered car that seemed to be stuck in the past. By the late 1958, though the biggest fins were still to come, people were shying away from cars like the Edsel, and its hideous vertical grill didn't help. Today, however, the Edsel is the ultimate in 50s cool. The rear lights, the split bumpers, and even the font on the badges are all just so 50s. And this base Ranger looks great in baby blue with matching rims.

 

 

 

 

1963 Chevrolet Nova SS

The Nova was Chevy's compact, and arrived in 1962. The car shown here is a first generation model, but the Nova would have 4 generations until 1979, and then the name was revived in the eighties for a rebadged Toyota. Available as a top level performance option was the SS package, introduced in 1963. However, unlike later SS badged cars, this one was simply an appearance package and had no additional performance gains. Despite that, these SS's are still very collectible, making this patina'd coupe an interesting and cool sight.

 

 

 

 

 

1975 Jeep J10

In 1962 Jeep entered the civilian pickup truck business with the Gladiator, putting the tough and well known Jeep name on a slightly more luxurious and accommodating pickup. More luxurious than earlier pickups based on the Willys station wagon, and the classic Jeep, but still extremely basic compared to pickups today. The Gladiator adopted the front from the Wagoneer in 1970 and continued to have that design until the pickup was retired in 1988. This J10 demonstrates the numerical names that started in 1971, as well as a cool color and great patina. It was offered for sale at $3000 OBO.

 

 

 

   

1963 Mercury Meteor Custom Wagon

For 1962 and '63, the Meteor was Mercury's version of the Ford Fairlane. It was only made for three model years, beginning in 1961, and ending after 1963, the only year a station wagon was available. Also available was the fancy S-33 model, which had nicer trim and a better interior. This Meteor looks absolutely fantastic on 60s-style gold slot mags, which compliment this Mercury's 60s styling cues perfectly
